Competition Season
Overview
Regular season competitions are a school-sponsored activity with excused absences for days when classes are in session. You must check in and out with the OHS Robotics Coach or a designated school official for each event. Failure to do so may result in loss of eligibility to travel with the team.
- You are expected to follow the Oxford Community Schools Student Code of Conduct and Extracurricular Activities Code of Conduct at all times (see Student Expectations).
- Eligibility to be on the travel team is defined in the Student Commitment Agreement.
- Expected behavior at competitions — participation, interaction, cheering, and bleacher etiquette — is described in Competition Protocols & Behavior.
Competition Path

Competition Advancement
Teams advance through the season by qualifying at each level:
- District Competitions (two, typically March): All teams compete at the Michigan District Competitions. Teams that finish among the top teams qualify for the State Championship.
- Michigan State Championship (typically the first week of April): The top teams that qualified at Districts compete.
- FIRST Championship / Worlds (typically the third week of April, Houston, TX): The top teams after State, based on season ranking points, advance to Worlds. Travel details are discussed as a team during the season.
